You guys that can do this stuff amaze me. Took me a yr to master the original FMB, now Im still learing the modified one.
When I was in high school in the 70s, back when the USAF could afford more than one fighter which they let all the officers take turns flying (like now), it was common for jet AC to fly over low in N. Ga. from several sources, and I sometimes spent hrs off the end of the runway at Dobbins AFB. Camo RF101s were very common sights.
When I was 9, my mom took me to see the T-birds at Egland AFB, and they could afford to make mass flybys back then of all the inventory. I still remember gloss grey 101s flying by on AB right after a flight of F-102s. I do hope this project does see the light of day, even if just as a Recon plane.
A friend of mine who flew 3 tours in nam in 104s, 105s, and F-4Ds, also flew 104s escorting RF-101s over Cuba. That got pretty hairy, but he said they were very fast on the deck.
