Hi Sharkzz. I have never done that but Blumax just cut out a part of a map that I was working on so I could release two maps as the original is HUGE :) He will be around sometime soon and he could most likely answer you question.

I I have a new map project properly installed in DBW (I use jsgme & Boomer's map tools : unlocked FMB, unlocked map & 4GB Client.exe mods), a map of width : 10656 height : 13920.
When tried to load the fresh made map (Bomb's I did it...) in mapmaking FMB, says "loading landscape of map" but nothing happens. I checked with shift + TAB & the fault is :
INTERNAL ERROR : TGA: Too big width 10656 ed_m01.tga

Since i know there is no limit at the size of this .tga, can anyone plz tell me what is wrong?...

Thnx.

And the answer is... after long experimentation & selective reading... :

For such big maps, you have to make an ed_m03.tga image which is 4 times smaller than ed_m01.tga
Just scale (1/4) your 01.tga You also have to edit tha load.ini file of the map, under [MAP2D] with the
line : ed_m03.tga
I have just this line alone (without : ed_m01.tga) & everything works fine !...

You can see the result here : https://www.sas1946.com/main/index.php/topic,28959.0.html

Cheers !  :)
