i voted for full realism (as much as practically possible, anyway)
no time restraints, i'd be happy to see it end 2014 or early 2015 :D

advance+advance
full realism, you can not do because the game is old, and i am not a certified navy pilot.

Push her as far as you dare, as far as you can.

Yeah, that's the pic I saw. I apparently was wrong about still being able to carry three tanks, but Im pretty sure it could wieght wise if not for the room limitations. I guess the Aim 120s may not leave enough room for drop tanks on teh wings.

I think this kinda config would probably only be used for intercept of attacking bombers and cruise missles, so extra tanks would'nt be needed anyway methinks. This may have been an idea stimulated by the massively increased vulnerability of the CVNs once the F-14B/Ds were retired by sec def Gates (and scrapped prematurely by him while working for the guy currently in charge) along wiht the AIM-54s. The intercept range was only cut by about 70%, but since all we're gonna fight are zombies, who needs long range fighters? :P

I guess they could fire them all relatively quickly since they have htier own independant radar, but I wonder how effective it would be at longer ranges.

Keep in mind that the load outs change, and are very versatile. I saw a shot of one a few yrs ago with 10 AIM-120s and two AIM-9Ls. it could still carry all three tanks due to the missle stations on the sides of the tank pylons.

I was trying to find some 'League of Draven' picture with F/A-18 carrying Draven's face to comment on this but I failed XD

So here is something instead:
