Possible date to release this bird?

As with every other mod it will be released when it's ready. Please don't harry modders about release dates.

Heh heh, I feel a new version of "the Final Countdown" coming on. Maybe an alternate history universe where a few Essex Class were kept in service. F-18s served on the Midway in the 91 Gulf War.

I saw the Hornet fly in Spain. WOW!  :o  It was supersonic, loud, and fricken awesome!

It was a thrill to see it fly over the fields.

Good to see that we're mostly on board with the release of a modern jet aircraft here. You usually have those who aren't into it. Yes it'll be interesting to see an entire rottenfliger of 109's against 4 hornets

Yes Paganizonda, Early testing with the Mig-21 Beta's  I flew allot against the Me-262's and Me-262's against the Mig-21', I have been shot down by them numerous times, lol. It was good fun back then.

Only in IL-2  8)
And yes, the white smoke on F-18 are pulling vortices (from high AOA, high G maneuver)

Remember "The Final Countdown"?
