Newsreel-styled dogfight: 1917.
« on: October 20, 2012, 06:24:03 AM »

France, 1917. June.

German Albatros fighters are thundering through the sky, hunting for any lone Allied reconnaissance scouts. Ahead of them, a full squadron of Nieuport 28 C1 fighters are waiting, guns loaded. The rest is history; the hunters become the hunted.

One by one the Albatros fighters fall earthwards; without parachutes, the Germans either fall with their aircraft or jump in some vain attempt at escaping fate. They are not successful; they fall to the Americans machine guns. This is just another day over Flander's fields in 1917.

This is my first film made in Sony Vegas, and my last film for a while. (Thus I am posting it outside of my other thread, I hope you all don't mind.) I am very happy with the outcome. :) I'd love to hear some feedback, and any comments, ratings or subscriptions via youtube go a long way and are very much appreciated.

Kind regards,
Mike.

Another great job.  However, I like it when the Huns win.   ;)

Love it, despite the low quality of those old films.  ;D

This is in the quality to offer to History channel. I really belive movies and screenies from here can make a few bucks in commercial use.
the standard of the artist, map and 3D effects make it better than what Dogfight in History channel can do

Speaking of History channel, they really have to stop with their Pawn Stars and American Pickers and alien baloney. There's barely any history left there :(

South Park got them pretty good on it last year. "You're watching the history channel, where the Truth Is History!"

I agree 100%!  8)
We can make better films with IL-2-1946+Mods than that series Dogfights. With the amount and
quality of airplanes we have right now + maps, ANY Historical air-combat scene can be re-lived and filmed just like when it happened.
