Many thanks for these marvellous images.
I am also looking forward to the release this RRR version of the map,
it will gain much higher level than mine , it is sure.
Thanks for Your warm words, but my trials couldn't be made without Your map...
I'm only trying to show on Your map some places, which I have seen on old photos and I have read about.

Btw, please explain me, what does it mean "RRR version of the map"?

Best regards,
ls

This was perhaps unsuccessful trial for a joke:   ;)
RRR means Retextured, Retowned, Revillaged ,
inspired by cyberolas excellent remakes of default maps,
for example

Aha, RRR, yes of course ;-))))
Maybe I'll try to make swamps on Belarus (there were huge such areas before 1945)....
Best wishes

I tried to make some working swamps on Estonia map (as flat objects, included in the released package), perhaps it might be an inspiration ?

I'm downloading Estonia map now to see these swamps. What does it mean exactly that they are "working swamps"?

There are some water areas below these swamps, so that if there any plane lands, or any vehicle go there, they sink. The swamps are flat objects covering the narrow water traps.
Similarly there is quick sand made - it swallows vehicles and planes.

Aha, thanks, so it means that they should be put on the water?
And this is the difference between using this one flat object and using this kind of texture (there is in Belarus one very similar texture), of course.
Very clever, but how to mask sharp edges and corners of these square objects? I must install all Estonia map to see how it is made ;-)))

The problem with sharp edges wasnt then resolved, but now I thnk the object  might be done with blurred edges, so better masking could be achieved. Moreover, perhaps lifting the object some cm above the zero height might help, too.
Here are some pictures of Estonia map, showing the appearance of swamps and of their action:

Wow, it really works like swamp should do! I think I must try this on Belarus map (Pinsk Marshes and lot of swamps on the former Soviet-Polish border).
And, btw, maybe this is the way to make narrower ditches (it makes possible to limit minimum default width of the river by masking part of water surfaces)?
Thanks,
ls.

Yes, it is the way how to correctify water banks, also some grass parts of airfield objects  may be used.

I know what you're thinking: "Did he fire six shots or only five?" Well, to tell you the truth, in all this excitement, I've kinda lost track myself. But being this is a .44 Magnum, the most powerful handgun in the world, and would blow your head clean off, you've got to ask yourself one question: 'Do I feel lucky?' Well, do ya, punk?
