With my weak knowledge of Russian language I must say, that Toobone (post#21) is right saying, that jetty in Pinsk was wooden, but I have problems with making it in Il-2 (possibilities with existing objects are limited). Precisely, it was wooden in civilian part, in military part it was made of wood and some parts of beton. Here You can see it today (an original part near hangar, built c.a. 1932):

About my statement that riverine base was made in 20's, I must say that I was thinking about military base (a military part of the port). A civilian port in Pinsk of course existed much earlier.

P.S. Very interesting thread, some rare photos that I haven't seen before, thanks!

P.S. I'm not local-patriot of Pinsk (I know it only from old and new photos and some books), and first of all I'm not going to criticize Your work, because I like it very much.
(I'm scared to ask You what does it mean in Russian word "starozhil" - Your post #27  ;D) My only intention was achieving greatest historical reality, possible in Il-2.

@ ls:
You can made wooden jetty out of concrete one by opening e.g. the folder Jetty2 in Boomer's object pack 00_Objects_I/3do/buildings/England/
and remaking the files s1.tga and s2.tga using some wooden texture hijacked from some other object, similarly as you can rename railway stations.

Any news about the Pinsk update?
Not from my part,
anybody can make wooden jetties as given above, if considered necessary,  ;)
and freely release his own version of the map, no objections here.  ;)

I'm working on it using old pictures and texts (before 1939), there will be part of Polish-Soviet Border (Kolosowo near Stolpce). I didn't know that somebody will be interested in it, if so soon I will show some screenshots....

Greetings,

Here they are:

General view of Pinsk

Another part of the Riverine Flotille base

Railway Station in Pinsk

There is some work made on another places of Uzin's map (places on Soviet-Polish borders and some other landmarks, like PWS factory, Malaszewicze airbase etc.). My idea was to recreate times between 1926-1939. I thought that it will be finished on last autumn, but I have underestimated time needed to do it. And in some cases I must learn a lot of new things....
