Unfortunately, I'm getting about 50% of times a game lock just after loading: I mean, mouse do not move on Main Menu screen and I'm forced to hit CTRL+Alt+Del to close IL-2 and restart. I wonder if could be related to this patch and if there's a fix.

I frankly doubt there is any relation at all. There is nothing but meshes.

That seems to be the same problem I'm getting with heavily modded IL-2 in an older PC. In my case IL-2 is actually running OK, but the mouse control is simply left at desktop due to long startup time of IL-2 so that mouse in IL-2 doesn't move but desktop mouse moves on IL-2 main menu instead. The solution is just to Alt+Tab out and back into IL-2 a couple times so that IL-2 captures the mouse control again and starts working without any restart. That happens unavoidably when IL-2 startup time gets long with a lot of modded files, but luckily, it takes just a couple seconds to get it running OK again with some Alt+Tab.

BTW, SSD is really useful in that situation and easily reduces the startup time to one tenth and even a lot more. Other options to speed up IL-2 startup is to reduce the number of active mods or update mod packs with the latest mods packed in SFS archives. Maybe it's time to finally start updating DBW or just pack mods into SFS again so that best possible modded IL-2 installs wouldn't take so painfully long to load from HDD and use so much space on SSD.

...heavily modded IL-2 in an older PC.

I think you hit the culprit. Indeed, my rig is very old, this issue, though, appeared for first time after replacing Tiger33's 3do with Crazyflak's one. I did now all tests and I'm sure:

1). Only HSFX: OK
2). HSFX + Tiger33's UV3 EXPERT Mode: OK
3). As above after replacing 3do with Crazyflak's one: KO

Thank you very much for Alt+Tab hint: I'll try it soon.

Hi,

P-38 (at least the "L" model, since I didn't test them all) has an engine cowling misplacement issue with its folder for HSFX which comes with this patch. More precisely, engine cowlings are bigger than the rest of the booms; as a consequence, a clearly visible "hole" (actually, an empty rim ) is all round the seam between front and rear part.

I removed Tiger33's and P-38L returned to be seamless. Same after having removed all P-38 folders from Tiger33's and then reinstalled this latter.

Regards,
GB

It was just a silly joke... ;)

Readme should be clear enough as to what to expect. For example, if you don't see all the rounder engines&props made by PA_Jeronimo, then there is something wrong indeed. Full throttle engine flames (requires extra mod to show) should also clearly indicate if the mod is working (all flames should come from exhaust pipes, and from all of them)

Many other things are simply not visible (like hitboxes), you know they work when you get some specific damage mods working along with it.
