Vietnamese voice pack
« on: October 30, 2012, 02:30:47 PM »

With the coming MiG-21 and others, the vietnamese skys will become quite crowded. But if if you play as the vietnamese you get russian voices rather than vietnamese ones so this is my request for vietnamese voices,

get started by reading the radiochatterdoc.zip file - there is no need for any mods, you can do it all by yourself, because speechpacks are ass moddable as skins are.
all you need is a Bunch of vietnamese dudes.

I talked with S3 about it long ago. When someone could convert the soundfiles, he would find the people. ;)

Should not be too hard I think. I once managed to convert a music track to Il-2 standard.

In the Oscar winning classic war movie "The Deer Hunter", there is a scene with a few
Vietnamese bad-guys screaming at Robert DeNiro and the other famous actor and they
hand him a revolver gun with one bullet, so he can put to his head and play Russian-Roulette.
Its a very dramatic scene full os suspence drama and action.
The bad guys keep saying "Mao! Mao! Mao!... MAO! MAO!"  ??? But the way they say it is
very scary.
I would shit in my pilots pants if a Vietnamese jet-fighter would be screaming on my hearphones "MAO...MAO...MAO!"
 ;D
Get Vietnam speeches/Talk sounds from movies.
They are very good in some of them.
"...I show you goot time, 15 dolla, 10 DOLLA! ...Me Luv You looooong time! Five DOLLAR!"

Hi Max,

It's "Mau!" = "Quickly!" :D, But those are not Vietnamese, we don't say stuffs like that  :(.

So as said by Batbomb. if anyone willing to make the conversion and send me a script of what we need to say, in English. I'll make the proper Vietnamese conversion, I can find a few people who can do it too.

Cheers,

s3

Sorry S3231541  :( I am not fluent in Vietnamese language, no offense to anyone
in Vietnam was made by me in my crazy-funny post, but I have to admit those actors
were excellent in that "Deer Hunter" film. Its a very scary scene.
I like the film very much since I first  saw it when I was about 12 years old. Along time ago.
To this day I dream about bad guys screaming "Mau... Mau!"
I believe it is on the list of some of Hollywood most memorable film scenes of great drama-and suspence. All great actors.

If you were willing to re-create some great spoken  words in Vietnamese for airplane "talk" in your
native language, that would be Excellent! It would make the classic Mig aircraft have a more realistic
feel when a guy flies it.
I few years back I did some art images depicting the great aces of North Vietnam flying Migs against
the US fighters. Yes, they had some great pilot aces too.

Liking the sound of this, especially since cut 'soundbites' from films could be cool, but not truely cool as real Vietnamese, nor might they say much but a mix of swearing, insults and *jokingly meant* 'Max! 15$ for you've been gone longtime.'

Off the top of my head, somwehre in one of the games folders, in the samples perhaps, well certainly in one if the txt files it lists all the commands, directions, numbers etc, but not the insults, exclamations and shocked words, coloquialisms & expressions etc.

I just had a conversation with a friend of mine who is a Vietnamese emigrant if he would be interested in contributing his voice to this endeavor.  This is his exact quote was, "I would have to imitate a northerner accent.  We southerners don't like the northerners and we hate their accent even more".   Sorry, it was a resounding, NO!  All of the other Vietnamese people that I know are women.
