Bücker Bü-131 Jungmann and variants
« on: October 30, 2012, 06:36:39 PM »

I'd like to submit this humble request for one of the most significant trainer and aerobatic aircraft from the 30s

The Bücker Bü-131:

Brief History:
Designed in 1934 as a two-seater basic trainer. Its mainframe is made of tubular steel with some wooden elements and metallic engine covers; its wings are made of wood and steel aswell, and it all goes covered in cloth. The early versions were equipped with an 80 hp Hirth HM-60 but the latter were powered by the 105 hp. Hirth HM-504A-2 engine.
They became the basic trainer of many air forces including the air forces from Germany, Yugoslavia, Japan, Czechoslovakia and Spain, these three last countries mass-building their own versions.
A related aircraft was the Bü-133 Jungmeister, single-seat and advanced trainer, but let's focus on the Jungmann first

AFAIK, there are some 3D models available, and even for the FSX:

And if anyone is interested in modding this gorgeous aircraft, one could go one step beyond and consider modding the Bü-133 Jungmeister.

Thank you in advance!

+1 For this! One of my most favorite of german/spanish trainers. Would really add to the immersion I think. Just my humble monkey opinion.

Good request CC_Tofolo.
I put one model in the backburner when Rock started his own, back in the old AAA site. After some time, I worked in and out on it, and put it in the fridge again, when Rock restarted his work in the new freemodding site. In the meantime, I've put another trainer/aerobatic plane of the 30's in the line before this one. I'll be glad to dust it off again if no one has taken the challenge yet. (but I like more the german version, with Hirt engine, rather than the spanish with the Enmasa Tigre, espero no ir al infierno por ello...  :-X)

some pics for juanma (Backhorn teaching lessons to mr Connery for the scene in that movie) ehm, sorry for showing the plane with the pants off... :-[:

Oh man we should rate this post 18+!!

It's looking amazing, and as long as we can enjoy this beauty it doesn't matter if it's the german, the czech or the jap model (although I have to admit that my preference was for the spaniard, which is the one I've flown)

Thank you, champi

Gracias compañero

oh, I go first for the german version as more historical close to ww2, I like slightly more the clean, stripped look of the nose, without spinner nor bulges or oil radiator, but my uneducated opinion is of someone who never has flown one, and differences are so minimal that, as you said, doesn't mind in the end.  I already had in mind to do the spanish version (being spaniard and liking this jewel it was something natural to do, and there is a lot more info too)
This ones are of the spanish version, but who can tell?:

This really would be a most welcome aircraft, it can only compliment the time line of IL2, the second world war.
Hope this one makes into the air, it will be a blast to fly it, it also means flying for the Luftwaffe from basic traing in the 30's right up to 45 ending up with jets.
A very important  historic aircraft just like the Tiger Moth was for the RAF.
