I agree for a starfighter in il2 and all century serie, love them especially starfighter..
The name of the movie is simply "Blue Tornado" but lot of view of replica F-104s... an other good movie with a starfighter is "the right stuff" with the climb of Chuck Yeager in a NF-104 unfortunately it's a f-104G in the movie an there is also lot of view of a replica F-104 on a rope!! If you want nice views of the starfighters look on pro-wings dvd, It's a nice professional shooting.

Finally, yes please, build a starfighter for il2 1956.. PLEASE!! ;-) and i ll make the 51-01 Italian "Catfighter" Skin

Well there is always hope...but TBH the only jet mod I enjoy after the Korean era is the Mig-21 since this is the only mod with full FM, cockpits and 3D plus skins, still IL-2 but fun.
Love the F-104 but totally see that a modder invests his precious time and skill where and how she or he likes.
Good with me as end user.

It needed a skilled pilot, sadly a lot of early post war German pilots were not as experienced as American pilots. Also the fact that it was designed as an interceptor and did not perform well as an all weather dog fighter.  There are some rumours about bribes paid to improve its chances of selection, as the F5 would have been more suited to the role

no offence intended, in fact I agree 100% with your post before about the Starfighter's shortcomings, I am simply stubborn in my preference/defense, and in hope that one day an F-104 will take flight from one of my airfields...

The F5 would have been more appropriate to the requirement that is all, it does not make it a better aircraft as they were designed to perform their individual roles and both did that exceptionally well.
