Topic: 2048 map textures? (Read 1682 times)

Hello,

I've been out of the loop for over a year now, but I was wondering - I've seen the mod for the 2048 textures - does this work for map ground textures too? Once I've installed the 2048 mod is it as simple as just creating 2048x2048 textures and using them?

What a surprise. Welcome to SAS.
Yes, the 2048x2048 skins have revolutionized the entire way we are looking at this game right now, but it
was made available only recently , so everyone is just starting to see what can be done with it.
It seems with this mod all maps and objects can also use the larger skins. Everything in high-resolution.

The larger textures can also be used on objects like planes, trees, vehicles etc.
