Bravo:
This time I did nothing myself, just copied and pasted Chromhunt's files.
Thanks to the chap modder who shared them and credit of course to Chromhunt.

Griffon_301:
I never landed this bird on a carrier, cool idea.
I found some nice reference to these birds yesterday and there seemed to be two prototype base variants for the GoodYear Corsair F2Gs, an F2G-1 and F2G-2 IIRC.
Only one of them was carrier ready aka for Navy usage.

Both were sort of overran by the new Bearcat.

Will upload the pit and post.
As I said, no edits by myself, all credit to (page one)

Gerd, Mexchiwa,Gumpy, SAS~Malone,
Mr J.S, stansdds, TAK: Exporting tools
Chromhunt

You can also mix parts of course, I swore not to mess with pits again after my last idea (P-38J).

Simply copy and paste into ...#DBW\Gerd's reci...\3Do\Cockpit\

Backup
The real (racer red) deal I saw on a link has white side panels, dark to black panels and frames.
This one comes close, but the Gerd version is also good, loved the red needle and left panel gauge wheel there-especially the latter is historically.

hello Tom!

there were indeed two variants of the F2G; they can be identified by the different airscoops above the cowling;
what really killed the F2G was the fact though that it did not perform much better than the existing F4U-4 and 4B variants, plus those were introduced into the fleet already, could be used as fighter bombers AND had an existing supply chain established;
for the same reason, the F8F was not widely introduced as well;
there simply were too much Corsairs of established marks -4, -4B and -5 and the F8F was too small to be the equal as  a fighter bomber to the Corsairs;
this plus the fact that the first jets were coming online limited the numbers of the F8Fs that were introduced to the fleet;

but it is great to have those birds in game now :)

ps.: I would love to see some immediate post war racing skins for the F2Gs in used by Cook Cleland and his friends during various air racing events....

Griffon_301:
Thanks for the info!

IMHO the F8F was the crown of piston engine fighters. Maybe along with some British advanced Seafire and Spitfire variants.  :-\   ;)

In case it helps, found nice videos/pics of No 57 and -74:

There's also one for No 57, same one as it looks.

..gauges, the ones by Chromhunt I uploaded above fit quite nice except for the left gauges. And the missing modern radio lol..

What would be cool would be if someone smoothed those Corsair cockpit mesh frames a bit (almost same pita as with IL-2 stock P-47s).

In any case I like that thing! Thanks for these mods, also thanks mexchiva, love the skins. :D

hello mexchiwa!

thank you for the link, that white SuperCorsair sure looks nice :)
but I would also love to have the blue one with the checker tail cowling :)

Tom, IMHO the Bearcat has to duel with the SeaFury for the crown of king of piston engine fighters;
and then there is the deHavilland (Sea)Hornet and not to forget the Martin Baker MB5;
but for that special appeal, the SuperCorsair has way much more sexappeal than the Bearcat I think :D

?  Race 74?  All the racing F2Gs should be there...

Unless you're talking about Gerd's default skin...

Still WIP, hope to polish it a bit, also hope you enjoy.

Thanks again for the racers!
Looks so much forward in case the Bearcat gets its pit finished. And love the F2Gs.
