1950 to 1970 Destoryer/Crusier
« on: November 10, 2012, 09:42:12 PM »

I was going to create a knox class Crusier but couldn't find decent plans at the moment, so I decided I'll create a random generic ship for 1950 to 1970 for all nations I just used one of my old hull and create a ship based on different designs form those periods. It's not fully finished yet but Most of the D0 has been made so I thought I'd share. Hope you like it feel free to comment

thanks Blazing

Yes, its a great idea Blazing, I also would like some sort of modern vessel for
that Cold War era.
Recently I seen a doc on National Geographic about 1950s ships with two large
sized radars on the front and rear of the ship. It was like an early warning radar system
to catch any enemy jet-fighters coming into our border.
These old ships are being sunk and used as Coral Reefs now, but they looked very nice
for a 3-d model for IL-2.

BTW... Do NOT forget to continue work on the driveable Pt-Boat! I am painting a
new skin (Big Size) for it to really look realistic: I really like PT-Boats and you need to
fix some sort of weapons on this one.
Machine-guns firing forward would be a good idea.
There was a PT-Boat modified to carry 4 machine-guns in the front of its nose, like
an airplane has on the wings  8)  There is a photo of it in books.

I like what you have been doing.
Keep up the great ideas and the fine Mod work! Congrats!

...... 4 machine guns in the Front, what where they thinking. I can see the advangtage of that  :) . I'll try over this week to fix the guns and maybe I'll create a later model with different guns.

Lol all my projects are mostly 90 to 100% D0 and Collison models finished I should really do the Lods then most of my projects would be finished, But I get stuck with what a lod should have in detail and in which Lod it should have.

would it be possible to put a SAM turret on it?
it'd be really cool to have a ship that could shoot SAMs
