Buggybuggy Exporter probs
« on: November 13, 2012, 01:39:56 PM »

OK, here's what I'm doing;
Start gmax
Open the Austin_Ambulance file (my 3D object)
Click on MAXScripts and then Run Script
Click on BuggyBuggyIL2Exporter(which is in the gmax/scripts/startup folder) and
.......nothing happens.  F11 just shows a blank window with "Welcome to MAXScript".

What am I missing?

OK, now we're getting somewhere.  I was using the MAXScript on the top menu not the utility menu.  However when I select the Utilities rollout there is nothing below the Close button in the MAXScript section (i.e. no green line with Buggy Buggy IL2 Exporter and not Il2 icon or orange Export IL2.msh(text) etc)

Ah okay, so you have to click on Buggy Buggy Exporter on Utilities rollout list. Once you click on it, Exporter will appear as on my image. Later export mesh by picking it from object list, and then go to Open Listener button.

Orange Export IL2.mesh appears after you click on it. Earlier it is normal Gmax gray colored.

The text you get is part of the contents of a *.msh file -- maybe all of it, depending on how complete your model is.

Have a look at an existing vehicle mod. Find one similar to your model.

That is --- simple vehicle with no guns.

Open the model folder and see what files are included.
Look at the *.msh files and you can compare with your Listener text.
