I was wondering if anyone could make me a simple invisible aircraft, preferably based on something low speed, so I can use il-2 to generate a background for a film project i'm working on? Our plan is to film a model airship against a bluescreen, then delete the background and replace it with a seascape generated in il-2.  I've tried simply deleting the mesh files, but it doesn't like it and the aircraft won't load.

The one suggested by crazyflak is brute, invasive, very direct, but absolutely effective solution.

Internally the game controls some variables of the Main3D that determine if the plane itself is seen or not. But there is no MOD specifically created for that. Once after some Storebror idea I started to develop a "half traslucent" plane for practicing carrier landings, etc. But never finished a functional MOD.

I think that for you having a single plane for it is enough, so perhaps the crazyflak idea is what you need.

Or you could try the old Camera Ship mod,not sure if it still works in all versions of the game though.  http://www.allaircraftsimulations.com/forum/viewtopic.php?f=18&t=29360&hilit=camera+plane  (Update works in DBW 1.71)

Is there a way we could see a pilot, but have an "invisible " jet fighter?
I want to put a Wonder Woman pilot-skin in one of those.  She has an invisble airplane.

Jetman Mod + Crazyflaks way to hide the small wing?

HAHA! I had the same idea about Wonder Woman once back before i ever put a mod in my game or even updated from 4.07.. I knew next to nothing about the games workings, so i tried it by simply taking the 'void' skin for the yp-80 and tuning it to a translucency in GIMP. Instesd of being invisible though it was the black 3D model that i saw in the game so no luck! Never even considered modding it before! That would be cool especially if there was a way to turn it on and off...

Jetman Mod + Crazyflaks way to hide the small wing?

Wonder Woman sat upright in her jet so it wouldnt look quite right to use Jetman. However since we are on that subject, Jetman would be perfect if you wanted to mod Superman! Just hide the wings, add cape, and make "lasers" red! In missions, set invincability to "on" and you can smash through the enemy aircraft!
