Advice/method/approach
« on: December 03, 2012, 01:52:39 AM »

So how would I 'pinch' the red model so that it is similar in result as the blue model. The problem being, the red model is made from a cylinder and the blue model was made from connecting splines - however while the 'pinched' area worked nicely, the rest of the model is gone beyond repair with the amount of vertexes and overload of polygons. The situation looks worse than it is in the screenshot, due to the fact I had to just leave the model as is until I can create the shape I need.
I think this will only make sense to someone if I send them the source to look themselves. :? Unless it is possible to create from 2 shapes? However I think this would create more problems than it would solve. And the tail pipe should be a circle so I really have no idea how I should go about this anymore, whether to try the spline method over or use 2 shapes...

Actually this would all appear and make a lot more sense than the above nonsense if you could see the max file.  ;)
