Nice picture! Is that a Eurofighter Typhoon flying next to it?

Sure it is, back in 2006 there was the yearly September Airshow "La festa al Cel" in Barcelona.
That year, the owner of the Ha-220, a foundation named "Parc Aeronàutic de Catalunya" presented it to everyone. The pilots, two Iberia airliners, were surprised by the Typhoon pilot with this formation flight (of course from the ground the formation was amazing, the Saeta nearly full-power while the Typhoon was almost full flap and with high AoA ;D) and one of the pilots took this picture.

A very rare photograf, almost unique!

Publications of archives is Sain reveal that the Hispano Ha-200 operational utilization in Spain was designed to answer to  a very special purpose - to be deployed in caves (hidden from eyes) in South Spain, ready for immediate intervention in front of an invasion from Morrocco - a James Bond scenario typical of the early sixties strategic thinking in Spain (and Portugal too...) - sounds unrealistic to our ears today, but in its time it sounded highly credible to Spanish ears.

:o WOW did NOT know that one! But I never thought that something so unrealistic could happen. But in allied troop settings it did. To protect from bombing. Read it here:

Well, with sadness I announce that one of the only flying HA-200's in Spain crashed on May 5. Old news but Important.

The Saeta was marked "203-50" and you can find many pictures of her in the first post. RIP.

Wow! :o :o

It looks awesome M0SCA!

I'd like to encourage you to finish it, it would be a nice homage to the one recently gone.

And please, count on me for anything you'd need regarding this project (info, testing, skinning...) ;)

Thanks Tofolo, but I'm only quite amateur 3d modeller, I wish I had more patience...

By the way...
You can get some info of how to model it here (Sorry Spanish);

May be one of those guys can "donate" his model, or get some ideas...  ;D

I have a 3D model of it too.

In fact I gave it to Ranwers to valuate it for Il-2 and he said that it is a nice model. I guess I can work on it from now....

Mosca yours is great too.  8)

Looks like it is going to take shape.  :o

We will see.  :D   I could put some wing hardpoints for the HA-200 trainer and call it an HA-220 and have the "Empty" slot weapon for trainer.

Then for fighter the twin 12.7 MM Breda's in the nose. Great question!

*BUMP*

I have now took advice and started to try to frankenize some parts into an existing plane. So I will have an F-84 with HA-200 wings if all goes well. Maybe I will overhaul it all and make the mod non franken.

Great news for me, I really just need the will power. I thought modding was the hardest thing ever but now I will try to climb the mountain one step at a time.  :)

Nice to see that you're now working on your favorite bird, trying to get it into IL-2 ;)
Wishing you all the best and much success with it!

Best regards - Mike
