This default map use field(land) all textures 2048 pix, all  BumpH in 2048 pix,   texture trees in 2048 pix.
You can check out a file from that archive page.
Use SFS Extract  ,  FILELIST  does not need at all.
Extract the file for name 0000000000000000(this filelist, open as text)

The intention is laudable.
The use of "personnal SFS" is possible but I am afraid that is the cause of many more bugs.
I do not think that the use of "unofficial SFS"  is the solution for the future of IL-2.
My 2 cents...

But people have a choice.

The author can give two options.

1. no  pack SFS.
2. pack the SFS

People choose what they like.

But I still can't get it to work this .sfs download + adding entries.

I'd love to try this map out, but here too I can't seem to find the correct entry for the rc file. None of the above examples corresponds with any entries in my rc file.

I have things like this:
@sfs MOUNT SAS_DBW/dbw_maps_10.sfs

and I don't really know enough how to change paths or whatever it is that the rc file does. This for a DBW install, which seems to be different than for other installs.

This Map version works in SAS ModAct 4.0, for 4.11.1m

Hi rez planes work fine.

hit shift and tab at the same time - do this when you get the load error. Shift+tab will give more detailed info what the error is ...

First time I unpack this kind of downloads with 7z to start with...

I unpacked file #1 which is named fb_mapscmrbessarab.sfs

What kind of zip files are these?
I downloaded both files but neither  Winzip or Windows can open the files

An sfs file is not meant to be unpacked. It is something like a native zipformat for Il-2 only. Or something of the sort, I'm no geek when it comes to this ...

Read the instructions carefully, but as a rough guide, place the sfs file in your game root directory together with the other sfs files you'll see there. Then in the file called 'rc', add the line (@sfs MOUNT fb_mapscmrbessarab.sfs) that is given in the first post.

The 'rc' file resides here:  #DBW/STD/rc
