Go-229 NJ with schcrage muzik
« on: December 22, 2012, 10:02:08 AM »

I have seen this model Go-229 NJ here (more photos):

http://www.modellversium.de/galerie/9-flugzeuge-ww2/9334-horten-ix-go-229-pm-modell.html

On the surface is a Go-229 with S-M configuration
Perhaps with too many guns on top, with two or four I think that would be enough.
Should also take droptanks as internal fuel capacity would be quite small
It also appears that takes a longer engine (more powerful??)
also has a new radar radome and a double cabin higher than normal.

Another question would be .. schcrage-muzik settings makes sense in this type of aircraft?

I know that we already have a Go-229 NJ and that most of you are now working on projects, but perhaps in the future these photos will inspire some modder.
I'm sorry but I have no blueprints for this model

If the moderators feel that the plane is not relevant delete this post  :)

Greetings and happy holidays to all

Forget it man, what I really want to see is a V-2 missile strapped to the back of that airplane!  ;D
WHAM! BANG!
Now that´s POWER!

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
BTW - Schrage-Musik on a Horten-229 is impossible. That rear back area space is reserved for
the wheels and landing gear. No room what-so-ever for anything else.
Landing gear cannot be placed or moved to any other place on the airplane because in the
wing area is where the gas tanks are placed and engine components.
    DAMN Max that was a good idea to put the V2 on the Horten! I am in a very definite favor of that idea! ;D
Just my opinion: Considering that the Ho-229 has such a short fuselage and the fact that the guns are placed behind the  (presumable) aerodynamic center, wouldn't them pitch it up a great deal? I don't know if you have noticed but the Horten already displays low inertia in pitch, i e: when you pitch it starts to oscillate.
Still it would be fun to test the concept!
Yeah, probably should be expanded the fuselage a bit to make room for the guns, and although it has a higher cockpit would have to find a solution for the front wheel, as there is no plenty of room for the co-pilot.
One could use a system like that of Me-209 with a somewhat smaller tire.
Mmmmm ... too many changes, I look like a crazy designer of third Reich :)
As I said before,  the system  schcrage-muzik may not make sense in this type of aircraft.
It is better to focus on systems such as missiles attack.
Even leaving aside the issue of S-M the plane could be considered an evolution of the current Go-229 NJ.
I like the elevated cabin and new radome, more powerful engines, droptanks, some missiles... sorry I'm raving again  :-[ :)
I like the way you think. You could have been a great mad scientist in the Luftwaffe of 1946!  8) Very Cool!
Actually anything can fly good in the IL2, even a flying brick  ;D but in reality some things cannot fly correct as
we wished they would.
Fact stranger than fiction? Fi-166, a concept design from near the end of the war. Designed to take off vertically and drop the booster when at altitude, a bit like the space shuttle. Not quite a V-2, but....
And it would take away the most distinguishing fact of the Horten... Stealth ;)   Even though the horten, like max said, is too thin to hold anything else. Surprised the engines made it in with the gear!
