Thanks for testing Walter,

My findings are that the 3.14 Pit mod is OK. But the patch has some serious bugs. So If you are having trouble deactivate the patch for now.

As for the compatibility of 3.14 with the ordnance mod, it looks OK on my install of DBW 1.71.  So there must be a conflict with another mod that I am not aware of. Hopefully it is something simple like a previous version of the cockpit mod that needs to be deactivated as mentioned by tooCool. I will  continue testing.

In the mean time for Thunderbolt II pilots, deactivate the patch. If you don't mind getting your hands dirty, you can get your canopies working correctly as follows:

In the 3.14 cockpit mod you can drill down to 3do/plane/P-47D-27(multi) folder, in here you will find 6 files Blister1_D0, CF_D0, CF_D1, CF_D2, CF_D3, and hier

copy these 6 files into ThunderboltII mod/3do/plane/ThunderboltMkII.  This should get everything running as intended.

Hi Poncho, does 'My findings are that the 3.14 Pit mod is OK.' mean that you're not going to look in the problem of the vertical opening canopy?

Henkypenky,

No, I will look into it. What I mean is that without mods 3.14 operates correctly. The thing is that other mods (understandably) orient the canopy in original way. Unfortunately, the stock model orientation for the bubble canopies is wrong. If these mods load before 3.14, the canopy will be wrong no matter what.  So I need to make a patch to correct mods that use the stock orientation. I have developed a patch that appears to work, but this time I want to test it more thoroughly before I  post.
If I don't find any problems I will probably post by Friday.

The most direct conflict with the Cockpit 3.14 is "Wolf's Advanced FX4canopy" I am guessing that this is what is happening to you bomberk. The upcoming patch should solve this.

The patch is up.  We'll see how it works. One patch to fix everything may be optimistic, if this doesn't work I could make patches for mods individually.

Thank you Poncho, your patch works, and on the T-Bollt MkI & II   :) Works in SAS ModAct 4.0 as well.

Poncho,

Thanks again for your great mod and tireless effort to refine it.

Thought you might want to know this:

Install: DBW1.71, without (Jeronimo's) Fixed engine cowlings and props and WolffighterAdvanceDamageFX4Canopy, and without RAF Thunderbolts.

First I followed your installation instructions to the letter, having the P-47 Cockpit Mod Patch loaded first, followed by Cockpit Mod v3.14.  Then I selected a P-47C-5 with a 75 gal drop tank loadout.  When I tried to open the canopy, the external 3D animation would work but the internal cockpit view animation would not (meaning the canopy remained close from internal view, despite that it is opened from external view).

However, once I merged your cockpit patch to the v3.14 mod - copying the mod patch files over and overwriting the same files in v3.14 - problem solved with both internal and external cockpit opening animation working.

Anyway, thank you again for this great mod which greatly enhances the P-47 flying experience.

Cheers,

Thanks all for checking out the patch, it seemes to work OK except in HSFX where internal and external damage don't match when cowling and props mod is on. Other than that the canopy operation is correct. Ben_wh, your idea is worth thinking about, I will think about the ramifications for various installs. Glad it works for you.
