Another important thing: There are no highways, roads and railways on this map.  ???

Hi Uuff, I'd like to hear about the other two ways to do the seamless thing (with GIMP), I only know the blurry way..

Personally I nearly always remove rail and road from all my installed maps when they are too zig-zaggy - it really kills immersion for me. This is why, for the last few mapmods I've done I experimented with drawn roads - yes you need many more waypoints for vehicles but its still more realistic in my opinion.

There used to be a good tutorial in GIMP by Boomer but don't know whatever happened to that thread.
I still have the info collected in a Word document and here it is:https://www.mediafire.com/view/?lby50zds14pa1lq

The 3rd method (which I prefer): GIMP/Layer/Transform/Offset. Change the horizontal and vertical position with a certain percentage. After that it is just a matter of erasing the two edges with the clone brush.

Excellent, thanks. I'll play around with that. Your bumpies are great btw - makes the snow look deeper and I like how it makes my drawn-on roads look sharper.
