i have question regarding RoF and it's payware policy...and i am only asking because i simply don't know.
is it possible/doable/allowed to exchange paid-for planes with mates, in a sort of 'second-hand' trading scene, or does each individual person need to buy a specific plane if they want it?
please don't bite me, i suspect it might be a big no-no, but i have to ask. 

You cannot give away an aircraft you have bought for your self as "used" but you can gift aircraft or have them gifted to you. There is a quite a lot of gifting that happens at the forums.

well I have bought all planes and mods for ROF and I cant live without it, If I fly slow I fly ROF . It give you a sence of reality non and I mean non other sim give

forgot to mention, i also own CFS3 and have several mods, OFF, Med War and such, but, like RedSpade, i haven't played it in a while, and Il2 keeps me pretty much too busy.
i also remember OFF being pretty awesome, i might just dig it out of the archives and fire it up.
but...then there's there's still RoF!......and IL2......darn, not enough time in a day...

no, mate, i have only played offline - i had a problem with setting the views up correctly, iirc....then, nothing since my last pc failure.
i still have to reinstall ROF, which i certainly will do. it looks and plays pretty well on my mediocre machine, so on that front i was quite happy.
i'll be sure to let you know when i am back in the pilot's seat.

Yes tell me, I wonder if it is possible for you to try mine. I got all the maps and planes. If you love flying and isnt in a hurry this is really great stuff. Very slow motion tho.

But I only fly online , offline ÅI use flaming clifs and IL 2

Over Flanders Field is another wonderful WW1 combat flight-sim, I also have it. A friend on OFF forum along
time ago sent me the complete modded game in 2 DVDs from Canada. Those guys from OFF are very cool friends.
Although it is a super nice flight-sim (I totally agree) I am sticking with DBW-1916 for the moment. It has been giving
me much pleasure to see it come together as a new WW1 mod-version for the IL-2... and many more good things
 still yet to come!

Having worked at ACES Studios and knowing the codebase and backstory of the CFS3 engine, I applaud these folks but have to shake my head in bewilderment.

There are so many massive issues with CFS3 that aren't accessible without the uncompiled binary source, I wouldn't even know where to start.  Performance problems with threading and CPU / GPU optimization, massive autogen problems (that carried over into the FSX codebase), mip and streaming problems galore...

...It absolutely looks great for what it is, but I can't fathom how they're tackling some of those deep-buried issues.  There was a reason Adrian Woods and Kevin Burgess just shook their heads when I asked them about CFS3.  Kevin even joked that he'd need a stiff drink before he told the whole story.
