Hi all,
Maybe something like this exists already but here goes...I spent alot of time trying to work out which existing campaigns used maps that have recently been repainted - having to go into each mission to check the map, whether it had weather (
) etc . Plus trying to debug missions that don't run in DBW or HSFX etc etc. Anyway, I thought the easiest thing for me was some sort of viewer that would show all missions at once. I can't program VB or any such so I reverted to Excel as my tool of choice.
This is what it does - loads all missions (*.mis) in target folder into a single excel spreadsheet, creating a tab for each mission and a summary of key data on the front page:
Above is PhilK's excellent HS129 campaign 'Ein Bisschen Krieg'
To use:
Tested on Excel 2003 and Vista/Win7 (it has macros so you may get excel virus warning, click enable macros)
1 Open Spreadsheet MartMissionViewer
2 Click on Load Missions
3 Navigate to folder with missions in it
4 Note browser may not display the .mis files and may say 'the folder is empty' but if you are in the right place and OK button is lit then click on it
5 All Missions loaded to tabs and front sheet (note selecting lots of big missions take a while to load)
6 Click on Clear all to remove all missions from viewer
On front sheet:
MAIN = Mission name (note: missions with spaces and hypens in title will not load currently)
Lines = Number of lines in the .mis file, my intention was for indication of number of flights, buildings and stationary objects i.e. how resource-hungry the mission may be
MAP = The map used in the mission
Player Squadron = yep...
Aircraft = Currently returns the first flight aircraft, which is not always the player filght
Year, Month, Day - displays if mission has it
Time - decimal format
Weather, MDS - Displays 'WEATHER', 'MDS' if data for these in mission. could be expanded to give values for each parameter
Obviously, much more could be done with this, this is just a tester for any interest. Let me know what you think? Might be useful for campaign designers to check continuity etc?
