The Original RED DAWN depicted the early verison fairly well (although they were modified Sea Kings to look like Mil-24As)

Modified AĆ©rospatiale Puma actually, same one that was used in Rambo II.

Along with a modified Gazelle if i'm not mistaken. The Hinds looked better in Red dawn though; still had the Mi-24A front ends, so actually looked like Hinds rather than pumas with pylons

They took the nose of in Rambo due to drag/stabilization issues, according to IMDB/Wikipedia.

I don't know what the mi 24 hind thread was, because i have never seen one, although it might of been a WIP (if anyone knows) But wow who would of thought, the cobra and huey two of the most popular heli's that came up and everyone was cheering about might not have been original work, and i never got a chance to download them  :(

yes, I can confirm that Mi-24 is WIP. At this point it has gotten a whole new 3d model and now I am solving some well know annoying bugs with flight model, like backflipping and some other and also I've managed to implement smth like rotor tilt like in RL. So you don't need to pitch down that much to move forward and also the "hover" behavior is much improved.

So stay tuned. It won't take long I think :)
