Having lightsignal instead of Radio message !

Would it be possible for some bright spark to make a "light" so we can have "clearence for Take-off" with a green light (green fireball) instead of radiomessage.  This was done back then to avoid notifying the enemy.  Would add lot of realism.

Kinda like Red Tails, where they shot the flare off when it was time for takeoff?  I think it would be cool!  I'm all for realism.... Wish Red Tails was a better movie though...
