Guided missile destroyer

This mod will add two SAM launchers to Tashkent destroyer, making it a generic Cold war era destroyer.
Simply extract to your #DBW folder and replace the current Tashkent ship.ini lines with the ones provided in the read me file.

You need working Clemenceau class ships for this mod to work.


Thanks to Western0221, for allowing me to use his code and 3d from Clemenceau class ships and Checkyersix & FM team for original stationary SAM.
Also, special thanks to Wasted for some bug fixing.

If I have missed out someone, please pm me, I'll update the credit list immediately. :)

Just tested it ...
works fine, just now a SAM from Taschkent destroyed a incoming attacking Jet.  ;D

I may sound greedy but... Is it possible to have SAM for some US destroyer/cruiser as well? Is it very complicated or is it something I could do myself?

Nicely done mate !
Though I have to warn you all about one thing : These missiles can fly through hills & mountains !... So don't feel secure flying low
using ground anaglyph for cover !
Despite this "little" bug, use the boat at open sea & you'll get a very immersive jet naval combat !

Yea, the guidance alghorithms and flight models of those SAMs never where too acurate. I asked once if they could use flight and targeting models from JW'56 pack instead - it still would not be realistic, (what is realistic for Sidewinders and Alkalis may be wrong for SA-2) but the missiles at least would behave more naturally and wouldn't be so OP.

It's easier said then done....

We did tried, for one million times jetwar code for these. However, jetwar missiles require aircraft as carrier for it to even spawn. Well try to modify this but not in the near future.

For now, at least you have something to dodge.  :P

Can't get them to fire, I have the French Carriers too, but they don't fire either............ must be something in TFM package.....
