  • I'd give up rice fields to fight like you

I've just started importing the Horten 13B1 parts into IL-2, using the F-84 as a base; most of the parts have imported with no hassle at all, but the inner port wing section, which is a mirror of the starboard wing, is showing up incorrectly - the textures are showing on the inner, rather than the outer surfaces of the mesh:

I solved the issue on the other parts using "reset X-form", but in this case, it causes the same effect to occur within Gmax itself; removing it again rotates the wing and mirrors it back again to the original form.
Any advice greatly appreciated,
-Matt

If you used mirror tool it will go like that.

Create a box, attach mesh you are exporting to that box and later delete faces you don't need.

It's easier and better to use the reset tools on ALL meshes before exporting themL
Go to the tools menu (the hammer icon on the right hand command panel)
Press ResetXForm (the reset selected button will then become active)
select your mesh
Press the Reset selected button
right click on your mesh and select Convert to  Convert to Editable Mesh
And then on your modifier list "editable mesh" / element/ select all your mesh and if there is a part that need to be flipped (appearing lack) select 'surface properties" / Flip normals

Result is the same, but I doubt if it's faster.

It's not always faster (though generally it is as you can select all the meshes at one and reset them) but it's safer - il2 engine is very touchy with meshes

Another quick question - i'm having trouble getting the meshes to export properly now i've added LOD's and shadows. The problem is I can't get buggy buggy to export more than one of the components i've selected, i.e it'll convert the shadow mesh or the LOD but not both at the same time. I've encountered the problem before with stock parts as well, but managed to overcome it by repeatedly using the exporter until it exports all of them in one go. Is there a trick to it or is it just like that?

You have to make hierarchy using button I circled in the left corner, to make list look like in example. Then you export everything by selecting only main mesh to be exported.

Thanks; I suspected it was that but I couldn't get it working before.
