  Hey fella pilots:
  I guess I allways thought that the Henschel was an ugly ducking in practical feathers.  After all, what is a flying tank supposed to look like? Right?  I fly a lot of Axis but mostly fighters.  Now supposedly the IL2 can duke it out with some effectiveness(read: it can sucker punch you good) but you can also knock out tanks ect.  But what about the portly French Powered Hs-129?  Guns.. Check. Armour.. Double CHECK, Blistering Performance.... Well, lets not expect toooo much.  But with contemporaries I beleive it holds its own. 
  Well I can tell you I am having a blast with it.  Flying it within its limits I started against I-15s.  When they proved to be easy I "upgraded" the enemy to IL2 and finally Yak-1s in Veteran mode.  I fly with the four 7.9mm Gun pack.  The results when hitting the I-15 was hillarious.  The Yaks fair no better and you can hack a IL2 apart like a Matador does a Bull.  What's more is you can take a licking and keep on ticking.  I have had bursts that would have put a single engined fighter out of action and still have been able to fight (or run away).  It feels good to get a burst in on a Yak or IL.  This thing is Evil!

  If you are tired of flying 109 and bored of out turning everyone in that Ki-wha-ever, Take a spin in what appears to be one of the most neglected fighters, Ehhmmm, I mean bombers of this sim.  It certainly has put a smile on this face. 

  Ok, I upgraded again tonight to Hurricanes and Beaufighters.  The Hurries fought like champs but again the Hs can be flown to victory.  Hayate's skins make the desert look cool.

when you have an absolute underdog and you manage to do as good as a contemporary fighter, you have learned your lesson! flying the henschel as effecive as an Emil: good job!

Thanks for posting, great aircraft. If you like campaigns then I've been playing Ein Bisschen Krieg and Germany's Sturmovik, both for HS129

it's been a long-time favorite of mine, for some reason.
i have a thing for these slower, unwieldy planes, and it is indeed satisfying to get the better of faster, more agile planes.

Malone, and in that spirit I finished off the week by taking time off from flying Claymores excellent 190's to fly "crap" planes.

I was allmost afraid to fly the Owl against anything superior to the Po-2   But in the end I nearly won against the 153s...
Ok, Nearly dont count   But had lots of laughs and had to really concentrate to use its little pea shooters.

"Crap"plane #3 is another favorite.  The guns suck and the engine makes no sound or power for that matter. Yet somehow I end up having a good time with it.

Great post Maico, welcome back! 
I have also been flying diferent aircraft lately. The new IL2(+ mods) offers a tremendous
good selection of airplanes to enjoy, but most often people forget about them.
Some planes may not be so pretty or well known , but after while you start to get a nice
feeling about them. Great planes all of them!

One of my favourite planes lately has been the Gladiator. I've been flying my Finnish campaign and this is just a stable gun platform. It's extremely easy to bounce the enemy bombers and I never engage an IL-2 if the situation doesn't look advantageous. I'll post pictures later, but this is an amazing plane

hi KG there is a known conflict with the gear damage mod. Do you have that mod?

Ju-87
HE-111
JU-88
R-10 and R-5 all underdogs in theyr own way

Now my only bug is that the Canopys of all FW190 A8 and G8 modells are allways on the back of the plane.....
