Hi pilots!
 I very like to fly missions and campaign with Y-29. I watched "Dogfights" on TV and saw there airfield of Y-29. It was very similar to default airfields in il-2 sturmovik 1946.
I have question:
 Have you got some historical photos of this airfield? So famouse fights, so famouse airfield...anybody? Thank you boys.

Bodenplatte is my favorite Mission in IL2, I hope guys will post much media about the Country and Air Field of Y-29.

Roger that Ice, and in the Mission there are no Slag Piles, or the natural country side, (in the mission).

I search the internet for "Bastogne" aerial photographs but unfortunately found nothing.

The Y29 was in the Ardennes in space Bastogne in use. I could not find more, please excuse me ...

 I have fantastic books with many photos about Bodenplatte. I can always send it to
you by PM if you want to take a look at them.
I would very much like to see a realistic looking landscape to create those aerial battle scenes. I have
also seen that History channel DogFights Show. It is excellent.  One of my favourite episodes.

Flying around in battle over those coal piles/mountains would be very interesting to see like in the film.

That will be a problem. The landscape has changed considerably. I have also done some searching a few
years back when I wanted to recreate a digital aviation art scene about the Y29. That must have been like
2007 or 2008. Anyone that knows me well and how I research my aviation artscenes knows well that I am
 a little fanatical about finding any and all information that I can get my hands on.
Many years have passed since then and the internet keeps growing by the minute, so perhaps we can find
new stuff at this present moment. I have read a few months back that some old recon photos from WW2 were
now available to see and download from somewhere. I lost track of that link, but I will try to track it down for
you. I would also like to find some new info on this thing.

Oh boys, oh boys - you want my work and I dont have the basic thing:shape of airfield of Y-29. Thanks to max for this sites, I have one photo with this shape, but this is from year 1921. In Dogfights TV series is different shape. Their shape is very similar to our default airfield Eidhoven. So - where is true?

Dogfights doesn't depict airfields accurately, they are not only genericly shaped but also have a strange layout with hangars right next to the runway.

  see about 19:30, the airfield overfly
