I'm not using any buttons file actually, almost vanilla HSFX 7.0.2. There were buttons in the UV3 mod, but with it my game would crash, that's why the instructions I provided above mention  deleting 'GUI' folder from the #UV3 (that's where the buttons file is).

Here's the content of my sound.log:

-- new session --
num channels 64
Speaker config restored.
Audio finished.

And the log.lst:

(...)
Initializing DirectSound playback device...
Primary buffer created.
Playback format is set : sampling rate = 44100, num channels = 2.
Buffer caps : Transfer rate = 0, CPU overhead = 0.
Default speaker config is : 6.
Direct sound audio device initialized successfully :
DX Version : 7
Hardware    - enabled [buffers : 121]
Extensions  - enabled :
  EAX ver. 1 [X]  - enabled
  EAX ver. 2 [X]  - enabled
  EAX ver. 3 [X]  - enabled
  I3D ver. 2 [ ]  - disabled
  ZoomFX     [ ]  - disabled
  MacroFX    [ ]  - disabled
SIMD render [X]
num channels 64

Loading mission Quick/Bessarabia/BessarabiaRedNoneN00.mis...
(...)

I don't know why it doesn't seem to work in your case...  :(

Doesn't work for me. I'm running 4.12.2 + modact 5.3 and have done everything listed here.

If you're referring to my instructions, I run 4.12.2 + HSFX 7.0.2 Don't know bout modact 5.3, never tested this with it.

One thing that might make the difference is that I'm running the game with SoundBlaster X-fi Titanium Pcie soundcard with EAX enabled through ALchemy software (on Windows 8.1 Pro 64 bit). And, just for the sake of completeness, here's the [sound] section from my conf.ini:

But it used to work. I tried it one time, but I had the SAS Engine mod on and it replaced some of the sounds and made others not fit. Is it possible to get this mod as a regular soundpack? In the My presets and My samples folders?

... Is it possible to get this mod as a regular soundpack? In the My presets and My samples folders?

That would mean extracting ALL the content (not missing a single one) of the two SFS folders with an SFS extractor (there's one available here at SAS), but when you don't have the necessary Files.SFS file (that is not provided with UV3) then you will for sure miss a considerable amount of files, and for ex only extract around 200 samples when there are in fact more than 260 ...

UV3 was realeased at the time when 4.10 was the latest DT patch available, and has not been updated since then (and probably won't be), hence the current probs according to the version of the game that is used ...

I've been away from this topic for quite some time, and that problem I reported still persists.

Would I be able to still get help? Thanks.

I've found that the fix that Michu has for tigers UV3 is not compatible with HSFX 7.02. When follow the instructions provided the mod install great but it does not disable the built in modified tiger sound in 7.02 and hence the two sound packages try to co-exist which causes all kinds of problems. I was under the impression from Michu post that this was the fix for getting UV3 to work in HSFX 7.02 but I was wrong as indicated by his last few posts. Is it possible to disable the sound in 7.02 and make tigers work?  Thanks TC

i must add , been trying drewm's fix to get UV3 working on Modact530, and it doesn't work for me.
i get a freeze at mission load,
java complains of a 'NoSuchMethod' error
removing UV3, and all works fine again.
so what exactly is an actual working fox for 530, is there even one?

i guess i must have too many conflicting planes...
there is really just one feature of this mod that i'm after, because with any other modded game i have (all DBW's/UP's/Modact) except for the 'old' NewTFM install which has this Tiger mod, whenever i am in cockpit, the sounds between open canopy and closed canopy in flight, seem to be reversed.
in other words, if the canopy is closed, the sound is quite loud, but pretty real.
the problem is, when i open the canopy, i am met with very soft sounds, and it just seems wrong.
now as i said, i have this problem with all modded games, except the one that has Tiger's mod - in that one, the sounds are right, it gets a bit louder with wind and engine noise when the canopy is opened, as it should.
i know not many people have this problem, i only know of a handful.
the thing is, this problem is now starting to irk me beyond all belief, it makes me not want to open my canopies anymore, and i prefer flying with the wind in my hair, lol.
