Rufe taking-off from land
« on: February 20, 2013, 01:57:52 AM »

I was forced to remove all Rufe's from "Green Hell" campaign since they were attempting to take-off from runway!

But would be nice to have them in historical theaters; do you know about a fix?

Thanks,
GB

all you have to do is to move the takeoff point from the runway to any bodies of water.

I just watched the campaign you mention.
- It is a campaign DGen ... I do not know this kind of thing ... but I see that there is no aircraft mentioned in the updated files.
- I have concluded that this campaign is not compatible with seaplanes...
- it is no problem 409 !
- see with author this campaign !

Thanks Epervier. I was not doing a j'accuse! to 4.09, but just asking to "Rebels" some hint, if possible, like one ask friends how to deal with his wife, not intending that friends are in any way reponsible for women's behavior...  :)

Tarawa and Palau subcampaigns, where anomaly appears, are stock.

- The problem is not related to the use of the 409/410/... or use a maps.
- The operation of seaplanes is special. Missions should be provided for these aircraft.
- It is already very different for static campaign so I suppose a dynamic campaign must also be very special ...
- Do not formalize my writing... is to "help" Google Translator!  :D

Investigating about this anomaly, I got the idea that Starshoy set A6M2N in DGen just for stock dedicated dynamic campaign "Rufe fighter", where player flys this floatplane from Tulagi to Iwo. It can be only in player's flight. In addition, it may get only two kinds of missions: Scramble and CAP. Were just changes I made to Tarawa and Palau "ops" files that caused the glitch of AI Rufe's trying to take-off from land, since DGen processes this kinds of mission according to plane type and only if player's one is A6M2N, it places him  (and his flight) on water. BTW, this still causes conflict of "Green Hell" with mentioned "Rufe fighter" campaign, where now DGen adds land fighters to Rufe's... on water!  :-[ . I'll post a fix soon.
