to fire it you need to select it first and then press the "brakes" button few times to get a message like "Sturm-V" activated.

the "brake" key? why this?  :)

well it is how it is made in Jet War mod. This key is responsible for missile activation when you are in the air. Thats how Anto and guys made it.

i've only ever fired the Sturm's at air targets, so far with a roughly, 25% hit rate.
never tried a ground target, but maybe it'll help if you padlock the ground target (F5) ?
also, you'd be better off using the Sturm's from the pilot view, not the gunner, as you can't use padlock in the gunner position. ;)

It's actually AT missile, it's meant to be crappy against air targets (you have R-60 for air-to-air combat). I fire it from pilot's postition as well, using F5 to select target. gunner postition gives more control (missile goes into the target you point with crosshair) but it's hard to controll flight at the same time. You need to switch to it anyway to use gun though, as AI gunner fires only at air targets for some reason. (BTW, the gunner's gunsight is not calibrated properly - the actual line of fire is offset significantly in down-right direction - same problem as in Cobra).

well sturm definitely can hit air targets. History proves it. Lots of Cobras, Pumas etc were shot down with Sturms from Mi-24.

btw I've spotted one visual mistake with sturms in the latest version. Who will spot it will get a new version for beta testing ;)

1. It has no control surfaces - no winglets, no fins, nothing
2. It seems to be using flare effect for engine, though not sure if this one is a bug, they are a bit different.

Really? See, I thought I SAW fins...but then, it could be an old flashback from the 60's.

BTW, thanks to this thread I am now steering that baby with the best of 'em...the brake key! Who'd a-thought?

It should be called "Shturm", does that count?
