Fletcher MKII 1960 Destoryer (with Flight Deck)
« on: February 28, 2013, 08:15:45 PM »

As you guys know I was working on A destroyer that could have a working Flight deck and Missile to be used for the Vietnam area, So after a long wait I have the Beta ready, Hope you all enjoy.

This ship is a What-if/ generic type ship as it is the Fletcher however I made a remodel for 1960.

You must copy the shipblazing5 folder to your mod folder otherwise you will get a 70% ( thanks to BT Walker for reminding )

___________________________________________________

All Thanks go to the following

Western For making the Slot, using his Missiles and helping to fix problem with the flight deck

SAS-Malone For creating the Awesome Skin

Flakiten For allowing me to use his flight deck

BT~Teacher For his inspiration from his Missile ship

please if i have forgotten someone by mistake let me know
____________________________________________________

* The following helicopters can start on it

Huey
Cobra
Sikorsky HRS3 & H19D
Sikorsky HRS3 ASW (WIP)
Bell
Mi-8

You also need these mods installed

Western 2.13 ship extension ( for the missiles )
Western USS Essex SCB-125 angled deck pack ,  Clemenceau class carrier ships

*** AI can start to but will crash on takeoff, this i think has to do with when AI on carriers go straight to catapult. ***

Hey man.

This is really cool!  I am amazed everyday with what people come up for this sim.

[P.S.: and if you get bored... maybe you can crack the code on how to create a destroyer that can have a seaplane be able to launch from a catapult... say a German battleship with two Ar-196s.  I imagine that would be challenging... it would have to behave partly like a carrier, which I imagine that is kind of like what you created here, but it would have to either use the catapult code we have now, or it would have to behave like the drone to mothership code for composite aircraft such as SPB.]

Place a catapult code and a spawn point on a destroyer's takeoff arm.

Since they don't land back on the ship (they were craned back into position) you don't need a deck.

Blazing, thank you very much for this ! Very interesting & cool stuff !...

VIDEO(not finished upload yet...)

I wan to report a thing that will cause trouble to users : The content of
"Shipblazing5" folder (ie, 3do folder & the two other files), must be outside of the folder...that means inside folder "USSFletcherMKII1960". Otherwise you'll have a 70% crash.

You will also probably need Clemenseau class ships also, but it may run without it (haven't tested without...)

Btw : Heli can land on Frigate, but if she's moving, cause heli has 0 speed, remains "behind" (can't follow frigate) & crashes. I guess this is not too much of a problem, since you can assign a stopped waypoint in missions, so you have a time window for landing.

Just a question (cause haven't tested yet) : For Heli spawning on frigate, you have to treat her like a carrier I guess?...
EDITED : Ooops ! RGR !

Thank's for your work! It will certainly contribute to some interesting missions of Jet Era.

Hi, blazing!
Thanks for all your work with this ship!  :)

Just tried this Beta and got this:

in the waypoint menu it doesn't work for me
to attach the Bell with "takeoff" to the Fletcher
as "target", it refuse to snap to the Fletcher.
(as GAttack it works ).

See also the right angled flightdecks part on the Fletchers starboard..

I have all of western stuff including Clemenceau, Missiles code,
ships extension etc etc.
