Working swamps textures

As some of us know, guys of Aviaskins and Dispersalfield suggested to apply the Zuti's friction mod to whole map, in order to make emergency landing possible also outside of airfields. I tested this possibility with success, and revealed that this approach needs some limitations. Namely, when the crate emergency lands on something like swamps, is should sink there. But up to date, I do not know of any such mod making it  possible. Perhaps it might be my two pence to greater immersion, huh ?

Yes.
For instance, because of lack of fuel , for rescuing bailed out pilot, an so on.
Requires only one line added to load.ini, instead of several ones for particular airfields.
Verified to be feasible on Estonia WIP map, Oknevas considers to do it on coming Moscow map.

Depending on how you do this, the physics might be trickier than you know. A plane landing wheels-down in a swamp will flip over and then sink in. In at least one instance during WW2, this fact was Very Important:

A possible workaround for a swamp texture would be to make a swampy-looking water texture. It looks like solid ground but if you land there you're effectively making a water landing.

A possible workaround for a swamp texture would be to make a swampy-looking water texture. It looks like solid ground but if you land there you're effectively making a water landing.
Many thanks for what looks like feasible idea. Perhaps somebody will work it out, I do not know how to do  it yet.

In one of the main Islands he created a swamp like area which actually existed in the real island...

I have been following this for a bit now and thinking. The only way to make this work is you need to use a ground plate texture for runways, such as a grass runway texture, but rework the texture to look like a swamp. The reason is a ground plate will sit over water. All others wont.  Any shallows texture you have for the ocean will show on any water such as a lake and it has to be water for the plane to sink.
If you take and rework the look of a gorund plate it will sit on top of the water but allow the plane to sink. I'll will take a regular gound plate for now and do this and get some pics so you can see what I mean but it is very possible to make this happen for you. :)

I found this glitch on my Midaway Late War map yesterday while driving a jeep around. Here you can see that the runway plate sits on top of the water and hides it but if you drive over it, you sink.





Now, if someone can take a runway plate and rework the texture to look like a swampy area and then place it over a small lake it will look solid untill you drive over it. :)

Yes, it was also my thought that ground plates over water will work like swamps. The only drawback is that there is the need of large nuimber of plates to cover larger area, like swams used to be. So the number of necessary objects will increase even more than in the case of airfields, so enlarging also actors.static file enormously. Something like larger plate would be useful, I think.
