Cold War Becomes Hot-campaign
« on: March 15, 2013, 08:56:11 PM »

Hello.

This is first campaign i made for IL2. I like Sabre jets and "what if" scenario war movies, so i made this WW3 campaign for IL2 Sabre pilots.

After few incidents between Soviet and NATO forces in Korea, situation on border between two Germany escalate in a open war and you are put in the middle of a new world war. In 39 missions, all located in Europe in period from 1952 until 1953, you will have to intercept Soviet bombers with nuclear bombs, MiG-15s on low ground attacks, protecting your own F-84s, F9Fs low and high, also escorting big formations of B-29 on missions to destroy soviet factorys and air bases. Hunt stolen F-86 to prevent enemy to gets their hands on heat seeking missiles technology, DF with guns and missiles will fighting with poor weather (mimicking radiation fallouts) in fwe missions, flying stealth/low-level attack with tactical nuclear bomb with your F-86 to prevent reds controlling the Europe and World.

Some military arsenal is introduced in this campaign earlier than in real because i believe advancement in technology would be faster in war, and at this time both sides didnt have enough nuclear arsenal to annihilate them self. So after first strikes there is still large amount of ability to produce military equipment on both side.

Player airplanes: F-86F, F86K, CA-27 Sabre Mk31

Link for UP3rc4:

Campaign is made for IL2 UP3rc4, but i beleve it will work fine also in DBW doesent work in DBW 1.7 , doesent work on HSFX6.0.

EDIT:
I replaced missing planes in missions to those available in DBW 1.71 ( good thing is, even though they removed some planes, armament of those planes is added to similar types  :)  ). First video works ok, with funny plane bug at the end, becouse it was recorded in UP3, and i removed 2nd video because it didnt work ok. Other then that misions are same as in UP3 campaign.

Here is link for  the DBW 1.71 version of campaign:

http://www.mission4today.com/index.php?name=Downloads3&file=details&id=1644

I hope you will enjoy playing this fictional campaign, and post any bugs and glitches you notice in it, thanks

Well... it needs some changes to work in DBW : MiG-15bis(late) is missing.

Van it be reactivated in DBW (hidden plane) or not ?

Thanks Gaston for pointing that to me, today i saw that some planes are removed in DBW :(

Code: [Select]
The following entries have been permanently removed from DBW 1.7. Also their classfiles may have been removed.
~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Preamble: Modding, the making of FM's, 3d models, slot aircraft, and the packing of them into collection, has been ongoing for many years, and this has resulted in a large number of planes in the IL2 plane list that are purely cosmetic, only of interest to tiny special interest groups, completely fictional, of very little use in mission and campaign building, outdated, obsolete, or just plain self indulgent.
In DBW, we have also now pushed the limits of the capabilities of the game's root java foundation so far, that adding more planes past a certain number has become a real and serious problem. It is thus imperative to trim the cureent plane list, to get rid of all this "fat", completely removing the obsolete, and making the other removals either available as optional add-ons (in the form of a small package of classfiles and lines to add to one's air ini), or to merge some of them with existing stock or modded slots.
Following much debate, communication, and extreme research, file comparing, and looking under the skirts of some planes, the DBW team, with the assistance of some of the main mission and campaign builders, have created this "Hit List" of slot planes that will be removed from the DBW base pack. What their end destination will be will be descrived in this list, and this list should be followed by an example air.ini containing only the remaining planes, after finalisation.
This will open enough headroom in DBW for the team to continue to add truly unique, valuable, and on-standard planes in future, as well as enable players to expand their one personal installations only in the areas that interest them, without having to carry content that may not be of interest to them at all.
This will be applied systematically to DBW, from build 1.7 onwards, in combination with a lot of purging and merging of the cockpit and parent classfile structures currently using memory in the aircraft folder of DBW.
This list is compiled following many days of detailed comparisons between all plane 3d, FM values, loadouts, classfiles, cockpits, real histories, ect.
In cases where slots are merged, the DBW team will usually ensure the more needed 3d model, FM, ect will be used. Loadout options will, in the case of merging, be carried over the the remaining plane slot, to ensure compatibility issues are kept to a minimum.
When merged plane is described as going to be "permanently removed", it may still be an optional add-on if the merge proves impossible later.
Due to backwards compatibility and game code issues, stock slots will not be removed except under extreme circumstances. Dont even ask for the Lerche to be removed, it aint gonna happen.
Also, this list is shared with UP also, since uP is also looking at trimming the crap away. Their list will be different, but the basics will be about the same I think.
Slots to be merged/removed (loadouts will be merged also)(where stock and mod slot get merged, mostly the stock slot wil inherit mod slot FM & 3d)(if removed , it is either because they are being merged, outdated, replaced, superflous, or because they are so marginal/fictional, that users should go find and install them selerately if they want)
Back to top
and that includes some planes i used on both side in this campaign. So then its not posible to play this campaign in DBW 1.7, i was under impresion that DBW and UP3 have same plane lists. But after i test it all, ill try to replace missing planes with similar ones that are in DBW game and re-upload it on M4T for DBW gamers, for now its only for UP3
