More of an idea then a specific request, this is maybe something for 3D Modellers and coders !
It's not about shiny new beautiful aircrafts, but instead Wreckage resulting from the forced or badly intended airplane crashes we all know so well. This although often funny to watch lacks somewhat in connection with reality at times.
IL-2 does some interesting things to create this debris, it uses the ac's hier.him data and assembles an array of chunks as part of a wreckage object (in fact a new actor, which might give the necessary opportunity to load an alternative set of meshes), those with Hooks can generate moving particle FXs. It does then develop those parts along trajectories originating from the impact forces, masses, velocity etc., that's fine for lighter crashes, however we know from real life aircrashes that wreckage is often just a hole in the ground with wrested charcoaled metal debris burning or smoldering and here and there some pieces which reminds one of the origin (an actual aircraft). Wouldn't it be charming if there would be a dedicated set of meshes resemble torn metal, burned twisted pieces of beams, rips of wing of engine parts, burning tyres strewn out around and in the center of the impact crater ? This could be a set of 10 - 30 meshes loaded at the start of the game (maybe a radials, inline, jet light, medium, heavy set) which are then being used in the conversion of the ac into a wreckage object also using some original parts. I'm not 100% sure whether the conversion from the ac to wreckage really allows this really, but think chances are quite high ??!
