Thanks Max.  I made an effort not to have repeating textures and it does look very nice, if I may say so.  Just need to populate with objects now.

I believe I can mod some Slovakia houses to give them a plain, unpainted wood roof and walls, if you are interested.

mandrill,

I think the addition of some truly Chinese objects to the game would be great :)!

I'm planning on uploading this map at Mission4Today.com in the next day or so.  Very few objects have been added so far.  I'll upload it then RiptideOne can take over the populating with objects.

I changed the city textures to the more traditional IL2 street layout but made the streets more narrow.  I assume the texture will be packed heavily with housing objects so a 3D look would be covered up anyway.

It's no problem modding the little Slovakia houses to all unpainted wood and log construction. Perhaps it would be a good idea to figure out which type of building would be suitable for the area of China that CT has mapped. Some areas of China would have painted plaster exteriors - as do the Slovakia houses already. And some are all wood.

It would add to the map's authenticity to have the area appropriate type of house.

I will try and figure out how to get the tile roof.

maybe wooden houses can be in the countryside and the city can have a mix of other types.  Slovakia houses have a dark roof so they may not need to have a tile roof added.

The roof is easy to change around from 1 in game house to another. I have made wood plank roofs for a couple of the Slovakia houses now.

The issue is that I will have to cut and paste a tile roof from a non-game photo and adapt it. We'll see.

The tiles seem to be a typically Chinese feature and it would be nice to get them.
