Or a South Dakota Class Battleship, like the USS Alabama!  ;D These and other "Fast Battleships" had their own catapults at the stern as well.

With really good radio communication gameplay and naval gunfire spotting / scouting mechanics, you could make an entire campaign out of playing as an OS2U Kingfisher off one of the South Dakota class BBs.

Nice project. I did not realise how big those subs were.

.... PLEASE NO FULL QUOTES!
Yes, please make a version for 4.10.

You can not use a catapult to be a 4.10. version, but do you be able to convince?

Nice project. I did not realise how big those subs were.

They were the largest subs in the world until the Russians built their massive Typhoon class subs (I believe, I may be mistaken) and were over 400 feet long! truely massive, I wish we could have preserved one as a museum ship atleast

Hello ten010, you certainly have excelled yourself here, this mod is incredible. 8)

I tried the seaplane first and she is gorgeous, you can never have enough of them. ;)

However, I seem to be having trouble with the take off from that awesome sub, what did I do wrong. :-[

This is the AI from the mission you uploaded:

Now I appreciate this is beta, but wheter I try to launch myself or as AI the seaplane just refuses to fly off without damage. :'(

Could you tell me please is this just me or have you experienced this?

Now I'm not that good with these sea things but I have the necessary ingredients as prescribed, this is my 4.11.1 with SAS Mod Act 4, I have "SAS Engine Mod v2.6RC" and I have added the text for catapaults to the file  in the com/maddox/il2/ojects folder of the engine mod.

Any help would be greatly appreciated. :)

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D

I thought DBW did have catapults?

Uh-huh. I would be able AI plane takes off perfectly in my PC ....
I have a question.
Plane or will appear in the center of the hull when you start the mission?
Do not introduce a catapult MOD of before?
What happens if I make a mission to ship departure from I400 submarine in FMB?

It does not allow you to use the catapult in I400 submarine because it is not possible to describe, "Catapults.ini" but have a catapult work with DBW.
What a pity. :'(

Hello ten010, the mission I used is the one you uploaded in the thread, I have not yet tried to make a mission of my own.

I used TD 4.11.1 with SAS Modact 4 for the trial flight.

I have only added aircraft to the install, no other ships or any kind of take off mod that I am aware of.

I have 000_1956_Core_v13 installed as well as !SAS_Engine_Mod_4111m_v26, both I believe are the latest versions.

Here is a take off sequence from your mission:

In answer to one of your question, the aircraft is not exactly in the centre of the submarine.

Each time I try this the end is different but essentially the aircraft takes damage as it tries to launch to the side on take off.

Wind setting in the mission maybe?

Hope this helps. ;)

Just for info, although I would think it not high on your to do list:

I added the M6A1 to my stationary planes mod and it it seems to be afflicted with a problem prevalent with a lot of sea planes, it stands up off the water surface.

Gorgeous submarine bye the way. 8)

Wishing you all the very best, Pete. ;D
