I think that "visual fix" only must to be installed if you have other mod about keys and engines

I have to rebuild the conf.ini, I don,t know how but there was a few changes that impeded boot

i have read something about 30% crash, related to the version of "SAS engine mod" but i can find it now, my apologies Malone

you were right, Chewaca - i removed the Engines Mod, and now it loads the mission.
well, so if i can't use some of the most essential mods anymore, upon which so many others are dependent, and i can't use my personal favorite mods, it doesn't leave me with much.
hell, i can't even fly my modded Hurricanes without the Engines mod, so that leaves me with little i really want.
so, i don't know if its even worth trying to pursue this Modact 4 type install anymore, then....   :-X
and considering the low fps issues i always seem to have with DBW, that really leaves me with little else, except for the good old 4.09 install.
pity that some really epic mods, such as the new PAL visual mod, don't work for 4.09.... :(

not quite sure how to feel about this, it leaves me with mixed feelings - glad it's solved, but at the same time staring at a rather empty mods folder, with little interest to continue without all my favorite mods....

anyway, thanks for the help in solving it mate.
and thanks to everyone else who helped along the way.  8)

okay, an update - i think i've found the mod that's causing all the 30% crashes - still testing, but it seems this is the one: !#+TurretFix+FasterTurrets
now, this is just one classfile, and is really still in debate as to whether this is even needed separately, as it is included with the SAS_Engines mod.
i've used this mod for some time now, without problems in the past.
however, as soon as i removed this, my missions loaded normally.
what i suspect, is that it is not the individual mod that is at fault, but more likely the way, or the order, in which some of these mods, interact.
so, between this one, the Engines mod and the Visual mod, which has a fix that needs to be loaded before the Engines mod, as indeed does this one, i think there is something breaking down if these mods are used in a certain sequence.
this is still just theory, but as i test more, i will have more facts.
i have already tested twice with this, and as soon as i put this turret fix mod back in, it crashes my missions at 30%. take it out, missions load.
so, somewhere along the way, the Engine mod, Visual mod and this AI turret fix mod, are having problems getting on with each other.
at least, this is my theory so far.
anyway, slowly rebuilding my install, and so far, so good.
sanity is slowly being restored, thank goodness. no padded cell needed for the Easter weekend, after all, lol. :D
