« on: April 04, 2013, 08:37:30 AM »

Ar 65 was one of first really fighters of Luftwaffe. A greater quantity of versions have been developed, but serial production was followed up Are 65d in 1934. This version had an internal bomb bay for 6 bombs and old LMG 08/15 machine guns caliber 7.92 mm. Since version Ar 68e were not bomb bay mounted, but this plane had radiostation and new MG 17 machine guns. As fighters have not been used for a long time, but many pilots learned to fly with them. Since 1937, Bulgarian air force used 12 planes. During WW2 were used as trainig plane in A/B Schule. Put out of service were in 1944. Served on the eastern front to tow of gliders DFS 230 to 1943. These aircraft were added hook under rear lower part of the fuselage, new tyre and special fuel tanks below the upper wing.
BMW engine had a power of 750 k actually only on paper. It was permit only at the start and it's only for a period of 3-5 min. The actual performance was just 500 k and the engine had a compressor. That is why, German fighters have a very weak performance at a height altitude. For example Ar 65 was the speed of ascent only about half in comparison with the Czechoslovakian Avia B-534.

I'd like to see on used slejsa. I'm not sure if they were used in the SCW. However it'd still be a welcome edition.

cheers
