This is last model of Avia´s pre-war aerobatic airplanes. B 422 was developed for the tournament in St. Germain en Laye (1938) on the basis of comments by famous pilot František Novák. The highlight of the competition was supposed to be a duel F. Novák with the German von Hagenburg. Although Novák won by 21 points, for allegedly breaching the flight time penalized and ended up in second place.
