YAY! Doggies! Btw, just asking, someone made an elephant... It was nice, but blocky... Is it Il-2 limiting quality of models? Or can we have like a super hd model dog?
Yes, it has to do with polygon counts. You can have large sized objects but this game is not too keen on working
properly with too many polygon things in it, so I have been told in the past.
Still, that elephant looks pretty good to my eyes.
Many 3d-models can look very good with the right paint-skin on it
So any model is good for me. It´s all a matter of
painting them the right way with some nice textures.
BTW - here is a FREE doberman high-polygon model if you wish to try it in the game. Its map skin is a size 4096x4096 .tga

have to zoom into the screenshot to see any of those critters walking around. At least a dog has some volume to notice it better
at a distance when placed around airfields or near some other objects.
Although I have suggested in the past if it was possible to add a Leopard cat as an object , for African maps or any other map.
A Leopard cat has volume an is quite big, and its skin can later be painted in diferent types to represent a snow-leopard, a
black panther, a lioness, a jaguar, a North-American Puma and many other types of big wildcats.
