Hey F-4 skinners, check htis Norad air defence scheme F-4E
« on: June 11, 2013, 07:24:14 PM »

This was in 83, and F-4E in gloss aircraft grey, the same color many F-4Cs, F-102s, 101s, and 106s were in, very common in the 60s but still around in the early 80s. I never saw an E painted like this, or with the large high vis insignia. Here is the caption on Flikr, but unfortunately I can't download the photos frm there; I even tried to make my pix downloadable, but nadda.

Keflavik based US Air Force McDonnell-Douglas F-4E Phantom II 66-0382 in the static line-up at the International Air Tattoo held at RAF Greenham Common on 23rd July 1983.
This 57th FIS F-4E was part of their NORAD (North American Aerospace Defence Command) commitment and were based in Iceland to counter the 'Northern' Soviet threat.

Ths is more of a suggestion than a request. I have no reference to the scheme from other angles, thoug Im pretty sure it had large insignia on the wings, and MAY have had USAF on top and bottom of the wing.
