IL-2 Selector no start: MAYDAY~SOLVED

After working flaweless since February,  whammy

Sorry for the late reply.
The log tells that for some reason your Java Virtual Machine hasn't been launched correctly.
Most likely your "bin" and/or "lib" folders of your IL-2 installation have been corrupted. Please try to replace to folders by some others from a known working IL-2 installation.

Hi Mike
I appear to have this same issue on a new install but have no access to a working bin folder and cannot seem to find a lib folder anywhere in the install, do you have any suggestions?

I'm sorry I'm not sure what either of them are I'm afraid I'm new to all this and rather out of my depth!

I installed a new steam edition (Never modded il2 before)
Then took it out of steam
Then installed the 4.12.2 upgrade
then added VP mod and changed the conf.ini as instructed

I have the same issue as explained above, game does not open long enough to create a log.ini file!
