The simple answer is take the ratio of top speeds between the land and float versions of the N1K and A6M2-N, to get an idea of the drag penalty of this float configuration.

In terms of speed, this was quite an easy job - all I did was copy the A6M2-N floats into Gmax, stretch appropriately, then re-map onto the original skin. The floats don't have their own sections on the skin, but take a chunk of the fuselage - so the top and bottom will always bear the same camouflage pattern as the rest of the aircraft. The maps have been stretched and compressed as well so the patterns are slightly different.

Mikoyan, any chance of this skin for the final release? The best place for this plane will be the Pacific, so this skin fits the plane as a glove!

Done; modification of stock texture:

I'll probably do a tan/green version of the same skin, also for SEAC.

Takes off and lands on water now, and has it's own slot. Bounces a bit, will try and correct.

Cheers mate, Luckily that was pretty much it; download here:

It is faster than its Japanese counterparts (more powerful in-line engine and better fuel quality no doubt), so will be interested to see how it performs. I don't have a joystick currently so I can't test it!
