Don't forget the jams caused by G forces on wing guns as in 109s.

The Mk12 20mm's had that issue to with negative/positive G's on the revolver mags.

For overheat, I'll use these factor:

Firerate, Gun overheat factor (to differ between guns), map temperature (SAS engine mod have variable temperature), altitude, and airspeed.

Cooling factor is a derivative of those factor.

For gun failure and jamming:

Firerate, Gun overheat factor, map temperature, altitude, and airspeed, G, and random failure factor.

If it's okay I'll proceed.

Cheers,

S3

Was an issue on more than 109s, early Mustangs had the same problem until the gun layout was changed in the D model and the feed booster motors were added.

Good enough to start with.

Just remember there are two types of overheat results - stoppage and runaway guns.  A stoppage means the gun stops firing instantly.  A runaway means it keeps firing on its own until it either runs out of ammo or experiences a stoppage.  This is really important to depict historical overheat behavior.

This will be a very welcome mod and I do hope it will apply to AI too. Thanks for taking this on.
