Dont know if its been thought about or suggested (did look through a few pages couldnt find it)
We have a beautiful lancaster in the game now any chance of the special Dambuster version?

One major problem would be, the implementation of dams ingame (and the effects of the breach), though.

the effects of the breach i agree would be a problem we can already bounce bombs on the ground so I would imagine that that bit is doable for the dambuster (im not a modder so I cant say for sure  :-[).

Just modify the water skip values for the Dambuster bomb and give it a long time delay to simulate sinking. The default skip bombing values are: If the plane drops the bomb while traveling at a speed of above 300 Km/h at an altitude of 100 meters or less over water, the bomb will skip 4-5 times or until hitting a target. The dam breach effects would be an issue, however.

Those guys flew at night, very fast and low, do you think they can even saw how the dam broke? Maybe a repainted "damaged" dam showing flowing water in place of the black "burnt out" color of current damaged textures will sufice. No?

Speaking as a sailor, white water shows up very well at night. Unless it was pitch black it would have been evident. I think it would be quite difficult to show this accurately TBH, but certainly worth investigating.

Maybe is possible to add a "damaged" dam 3d model with a 3d water "flowing" of course all static, but will look cool from the cockpit.

Anyway, is possible to simulate the rotating bomb and the crossing lights?

We have landing lights so the lights should be doable.
The bomb aimer could be difficult with the little targeting triangle thing rather than a actual bomb sight as we know it.
Bomb rotation i dont know about although i gave it some thought and the bomb doors button could activate it  :P
Mid-upper turret would have to go lol
During the attack the front gunners fired at the dams would that have to be scripted for them to do that or will they fire at ground targets (ive never really flown my lanc low enough in the attack to find out)

finally if we do get this ill need a version with multiple bombs and a german goalkeeper on the dam so i can recreate this advert lol  ;D

Spinning may be difficult to do i think, the others should be fairly easy, and for the dams you could have it so someone makes a dam, adds to map and when dam is breached, it explodes like normal buildings and then changes to version with water coming out front, or big hole but i wonder how to do flooding (maybe have the destroyed dam model have big bit in front to simulate water floods and have lots of smoke anjd water which lasts for bomb to cover up instant flood effects)
