I patched a 4.12m std alone, works great, shows 4.12.1m in the first screen.

Did you patch a 4.12 SAS modact-ed version?  or an unmodded 4.12 version?

put a minus sign in front of the sas folder then empty the jsmge  then apply the patch to the root folder start stock game test then back to the modded game after you undo everything above back to normal.

I just put 4.12.1 simply inside my Il-2 4.12/ModAct 5.12. Everything works OK, but it is not indicated on loading screen that this is 4.12.1 now, it remains 4.12m

So I guess it did not work

Dude, UP and 4.12 are mutually exclusive.

The files from 4.12m were overwritten by the ones from patch 4.12.1. So I suppose it works or most probably the game couldn't be started after that. But maybe there are some files inside ModAct 5.12 that indicates Patch 4.12m + ModAct 5.12 on loading screen.

I have installed 4.12.1 over my ModAct 5.12.
It does work.
We set up Battle-Fields 2 server for 4.12.1 and I can enter the server.
Battle-Fields 1 server is still at 4.12 and I get the different version message.
This server uses 4.12.

So with that no matter what the splash screen may say it is 4.12.1.
I hope this helps.

Absolutely right.

We'll update Modact 5 in due time, but bear with us since we've got real life jobs to do unless someone volunteers to pay us for modding
