Every skinner should do his very own version of this famous airplane.

Did you know he also flew a few other Albatross aircraft with diferent paints?
 Many other planes also having his trademark red color on the fuselage or in the wings.
So you can still continue painting a few more Red Baron planes  :)

One of the biographies said he usually flew a red plane if there was an offensive on. Like Bloody April, and the Kaiser lacht. Outside of those times, he flew a plane with some red on it, so he could be recognised from above. Jasta 11/JG1 aparrently had a two seater, and crew whose full time job it was to fly around looking for red paint/dope. It wasn't on issue to the Luftstreitkraft.
